These are our plans to go shopping locally and our recommended places to eat

Local Shops for groceries:

There are the three historic market towns locally which cater for most things. Their opening days are:

Settle: Tuesday

Clitheroe: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Skipton: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

In Settle there is a Booths and Co-op supermarket.

In Clitheroe, there are all the leading supermarkets apart from Morrisons.

In Skipton you will findTescos and Morrisons

In addition to these we have a 'deli cafe/corner shop' in Gisburn, with limited opening hours.(Check Opening Hours Here )

There are no takeaway deliveries available in the area apart from Afternoon Teas from the Horsebox on Clitheroe market but there are a full range of takeaways available in Settle (closest) and Clitheroe.

The Buck At Paythorne

This is our local country pub and we normally eat there once a week or so and it comes very highly recommended.

They are open Wednesday to Sunday and do a great Sunday Roast, although we'd recommend booking on a Sunday.

Darlings Of Settle

We're lucky to have a great Thai takeaway and restaurant in Settle, just 15 minutes away. You can find them on Facebook and check out their latest menu.

Their website says they're closed but check on FaceBook. They're really helpful and are willing to change dishes to suit you; Ruth doesn't like spice and they changed a dish to suit her.

The Horsebox Clitheroe

Clitheroe Market is well worth a trip, and if you do, check out the HorseBox for something to eat. They will also deliver an amazing Afternoon Tea if you order online!

The Shambles Fish & Chips, Settle

In our opinion, these are the best fish and chips in the area, and located in the square at Settle.

There are other numerous good places to eat in Settle including various pubs (including The Talbot which has great food), chip shops, Chinese and pizza takeaway and an Italian all located around the square.
